July fourth is quickly
approaching, and as your store prepares marketing and promotional plans for the holiday weekend the SWBC has put together some activation ideas along with four turn-key sales events to consider implementing in your planning.
Ideas/Thought starters for Events & Activities
- Live Radio/TV Remotes at Dealership
- BBQs with bounce houses/space walks and face-painting
- Water and/or Amusement park tickets with product presentation and purchase proposal
- Vehicle displays as sponsorship at your local FIREWORKS show
- Car Shows (Jeep, Mopar, SRT, or 4x4 Truck clubs offer eye-catching displays, enthusiastic 3rd party owners, and are inexpensive to host)
- Contests or displays showing the seating versatility and cargo space of the New Compass, Pacifica, Durango, etc. --- RAM Box, Stow ‘n Go?
What will your ‘promotion’ be? / What’s the overall ‘theme’
of the event?
- Special dealership offer for Military purchasers during the event - the package might include free oil changes, U.S. Flags, Gift Card’s, etc.
- Advertise that every vehicle sold during the “Event” - whether to Military Personnel or not it could result in a donation to a patriotic/first responder charity of your choice.
- Create a schedule for sales consults be on-site on the Service Drive for Evaluation Drives in new models with on onsite trade appraisals of their vehicle in for service. Have some new vehicles ‘staged and ready’ to drive; and consider having an incentive for the customer who takes the time and trouble to complete the Evaluation Form. Perfect way to pass the time while waiting for Express Lane service completion. The incentive can be for ANY customer (non-Military) could be to support a cause/need on the local Military Base, such as $25 donated for each ‘evaluation drive’ to benefit needy military families, USO, etc.
- Does your store and lot LOOK and FEEL like a holiday sales weekend?
- Does your display and P.O.S. create excitement?
- Have you modified the receptionists greeting to something clever and catchy?
- Is all inventory freshly washed and ‘standing tall’?
- Organize the front line with Red white and Blue models!
What are the spiffs/bonuses?
Consider spiffs that reward “selling behaviors” (confirming
appointments, securing customer info on phone and live up, performing proper
product presentations/test drives, write-ups, TOs, and so forth).
- Fastest start to the day/weekend?
- Most appointments from Digital and/or phone ups?
- Highest % of test drives, or % Write ups?
- Over-aged bonuses
